The Strategic Impact of the I2HOME project can be seen in the following areas:
- Enable a wide audience for digital home technologies.
- There is a clear added value in the European dimension of I2HOME. The societal characteristics of Europe (aging profile, social and economic model, availability of resources, excellence in research and technology, experience in related fields) give a good starting point for I2HOME in contrast to possible similar initiatives in other countries or regions.
- The project pays attention to the fact that aging population might be faced to increasing problems in terms of cognitive abilities. When this issue would not be taken into account relatively large share of population will be excluded from everyday life as the manipulation with devices of various kinds is becoming a sort of condition to perform standard way of life.
- An important issue is the fact that the designed approach will allow relatively easy change of modality and in such a way to conform to special requirements of individual users.
- The suggested solution is of a nature that will allow to use the results acquired in the framework of the project also in standard application (dynamic control of devices in standard surrounding environment)
- As the number of people with cognitive disorders (regardless if disorder born or acquired) increases the potential market for the innovations developed in the framework of the project will be not negligible.
